About Our Church
Started in 1975, Morning Star Baptist Church has strived to be a house of worship and glory to God in our community. We were blessed with the ability to build a new sanctuary in 2009 and have been so grateful for God's blessings upon our church and people. We heed the great calling to preach the Word to everyone. We have weekly services along with many meetings and events scheduled throughout the year. We love serving the Lord and encouraging those who do the same.About our pastor
Our Pastor, Bro. Ronald Young was saved in 1974 and called to preach in 1978. He has been pastor at Morning Star Baptist Church since 1997. Bro. Young was raised in the Dearing-Harlem, Georgia, area and studied for the ministry at Tabernacle Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina, where he met Mrs. Belinda. Together, they have five children.
Mrs. Belinda was raised in a home that loved the Lord. Her dad, Bro. Ralph Hoffman, served as pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church before going on to be with the Lord. She and Bro. Ron were married on June 15th, 1985. Mrs. Belinda enjoys spending time with her family and serving as both a Sunday School teacher and piano player at church.

Monthly Youth Rally- 1st Friday of each month
Winter Revival- 3rd week in February.
Youth Marathon- Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in April.
Tent Meeting- Starts on Father’s Day through Friday.

What to expect…
When you step in the door…
We love guests and want you to feel at home! The moment you step inside our doors, our people will greet you and assist in any way they can. If you have young children and need a nursery, we have a well-trained and qualified staff of ladies prepared to watch over and protect them during the service. Children are encouraged to enjoy worship with Mom and Dad. We are confident that God will speak to you and that you will leave the church with a profound awareness that God loves you and has a great plan for your life!
What kind of services do you have?
Our Pastor makes every effort to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. You can expect a few soul-stirring congregational songs and several great arrangements sung by either our Adult Choir, our Youth Choir, or from our singing groups. We usually have some special music as the Lord leads by any of our soloist, trios or quartets. You can also expect to sometimes hear several of God’s people stand and share testimonies of answered prayer or thankfulness to God for His goodness in their life. Then our Pastor will preach a message from God’s Word that is guaranteed to challenge you to draw closer to God and to experience His will for your life. At the conclusion of the preaching, we will have an altar call for those that want to come forward and respond to the message.
What we believe
Morning Star Baptist is an Independent Baptist Church. That means we believe in Baptist doctrine but aren’t affiliated with a particular Baptist organization.
Music
While we are old-fashioned in our music with hymns and songs with a southern flavor, our song services are lively and uplifting. You will find that we still use hymn books and that we do not sing contemporary or modern “praise and worship” type songs. Our soloists, duets, and ensembles are sure to bless your heart.
